Greatest Hits I, II & III - The Platinum Collection (3CD)
What once seemed Queen's greatest liabilities--a preening flamboyance and pompous, overwrought theatricality--have ironically become their most enduring charms in a gray, postmodern pop-music landscape. While it eschews the glammy, pre-punk hard rock of live faves like "Stone Cold Crazy" and "Tie Your Mother Down" for the band's more quirky club-beat string of latter-day hits, this 51-track triple-CD anthology goes a long way toward documenting the true dimensions of the band's music and fame. Some songs may not be instantly familiar to American fans because of yet another irony: just as their U.S. fortunes waned during the punk and new wave era, the band was exploding into true international superstars. Thus, there may be a sense of discovery here, whether of latter-day Queen material or solo work by Brian May and Freddie Mercury, whose duet on "Barcelona" with diva Montserrat Caballé transcends boundaries of both time and genre. A previously unreleased live performance of "The Show Must Go On" featuring Elton John on vocals is also included.

User Reviews about Greatest Hits I - II & III - The Platinum Collection (3CD)
I bought this for my wife as a surprise because I knew how much she loved Queen! She can definitely get her rock on with her favorite band. Great price for a great cd package for a great band. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. -- Great cd collection
This all the music you will ever need, Greatest Hits I (the best) and II and epics (a word over used but not on this ocassion). As for Greatest Hits III most of it is good/amazing Barcelona, Driven by you, too much love will kill you (some of the amazing). But Another One Bites The Dust with Wyclef Jean is a bit pants and lets it down as well as a couple others. But as it goes Greatest III is a good addition to the other 2 Brilliant, Greatest Hits.
This has practually everything a you need if you want to the listen to Queen and you need any other Queen CD after this.
As for Queen they have produced some of the best and well known music off all time and it's all here. You won't be dissappointed with Queen or this collection.

CAN'T SAY ENOUGH, IF YOU ARE A FAN THIS IS A MUST. GREAT TUNES -- QUEEN AT THEIR BEST
I love Queen, and was so excited to receive this collection for Mother's Day. I have listened to it over and over again. While I work on my laptop, while driving in my car, everywhere I go the Platinum Collection goes with me. I think we lost one of the best singers we have ever known when we lost Freddie Mercury. I would recommend this collection to any one who loves rock, definately one of the best rock collections out there! -- Queen knocks it out of the park!
Greatest Hits 1 - All classic Queen. 5 / 5 Stars
Greatest Hits 2 - Not as good as the first disk. Queen had become a singles band but it still has some great songs on it. 4 / 5 Stars
Greaters Hits 3 - Some strange attempt to ruin great songs. 2 / 5 Stars
If you are looking for a Queen greatest hits collection this is the one to get. I like the album art and the disks. Don't bother listening to the 3rd disk though.
Over all : 4 / 5 Stars -- Goes Downhill From The First CD
