AS A BOOMER, I GREW UP TO CCR. I WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO LISTENING TO THIS CD, WHILE RIDING AS A PASSENGER ON OLE' BLUE (IE '05 HD ELECTRIC GLIDE CLASSIC). THIS IS A DOUBLE PACKAGE BUT ONE DISC IS EQUAL TO THE OTHER AS FAR AS SONG SELECTION GOES. HUSBAND SHARES FEELINGS. IT'S REMAINS ON TOP 10 CD LIST BUT BARELY. -- DID NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS. SO SAD....

I have all these tracks in storage (all my 45rpms)& glad to see the singles released exactly the way they were without being common stereo versions. Every number is a classic except the two oddball tracks that I have as well in my collection. This one like the Three Dog Night mono mixes sound absolutely great!(those are found on a few releases as well) this is the way I grew up hearing and buying records. I know, why not stereo, get the albums or the many "Best Of" collections if your looking for the album versions heard on FM radio. What I really liked was the fact that the "B" sides were sometimes every bit as good as the "A" side of the single. So if you have the cash and really want to hear the band like I did when they were together, then this is the ticket. Remember though, being in mono they will sound better playing in your car or a small portable stereo. My high end system is better playing the stereo recording from the albums. Anyone over 40 I highly recommend this collection, if you like the band and are under 30, it might be a disappointment because of the mono format. Anyway, I am happy with it as other reviewers.
